Peter Onofre succumbed to lung cancer on April 16, 1990. He was 47. He left behind his loving wife, Jean, and their three children: Mark (12), David (9), and Maryellen (5). Nineteen years later, Jean passed away from breast cancer on April 24, 2009. Cancer affects millions of people every year and this family is determined to join in the fight against cancer so that other families may be spared the heartache that they have become all too familiar with.
All donations and proceeds are split between the local Nancy Quatrini Fund, American Lung Association, and National Breast Cancer Foundation
This event’s mission is to help those within our community get the care that they might otherwise not be able to afford, as well as contribute to the research devoted to curing various types of cancer. Cancer is not picky; it affects EVERYONE no matter age, race, or religion. This event is meant to raise funds to fight cancer and bring a community together.
This is something that the Onofre family would like to turn into an annual event. Each year, they would like to support and honor the victims and survivors of various cancers.

Vendor Fair, 5K, Mile Walk and Kids' Fun Run
Jean and Pete loved nothing more in this world than their family. That is why we have set out to make this event about family. We have tried to offer opportunities for all ages. We have raffle baskets for those who do not want to participate, we have a kids' fun run for the littles of the family, we have a mile walk and a 5K run for those who want the exercise. This year we have added the Vendor Fair as a way to support our local business owners and invite all people to the event!
We understand that cancer effects everyone and we want to give back to help fight the fight.

We are always looking for sponsors to help defray any costs that come our way. Those costs cover website registration fees, prizes, drinks and snacks for participants, etc. Please feel free to send us a message if you are interested in helping.
We also have a raffle that takes place. If you would like to donate to that, just let us know!
